A former Laker Girl, Sandra Colton-Medici’s credits also include commercials for Nationwide Insurance, Fruit of the Loom and Subway, an HBO special with Cedric the Entertainer, Fashion Rocks, Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, MTV Movie Awards, Boston Legal, Viva Laughlin, MadTV, films Bring It On: All or Nothing, The Day The Earth Stood Still and national print ads for So You Think You Can Dance and IBM. Sandra has performed on tour with Rihanna & Katharine McPhee and was featured in Dance Spirit Magazine for her work as a commercial dancer and in BACKSTAGE East/West as a rising singer.
Having earned a Master’s Degree in Communication Management from the University of Southern California (2015), Sandra’s academic achievements include a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Communication Studies (University of Oregon, 2000) and the VOGUE Fashion Certificate (Condé Nast College of Fashion & Design, 2014) in London, UK. Sandra is currently a doctoral student at USC’s Rossier School of Education.
Sandra served as an elected member of the Los Angeles Board of Directors for AFTRA and was appointed to the SAG Dancers’ Committee in 2009. An author, BOOK ME! How To Become A Successful Working Dancer In Hollywood is available in print. Sandra served as Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of Dance Track® Magazine (2009-2013) and has published work on Flaunt.com, DanceSpirit.com, OregonLive.com and more.
She appeared on Lifetime’s hit show Dance Moms and was a top finalist on Season 1 of FOX’s So You Think You Can Dance. Sandra performed on the The Tonight Show with Jay Leno singing backup for both Paulina Rubio and Katharine McPhee and danced in music videos for Snoop Dogg, Justin Timberlake, Chelo, The Game, Katharine McPhee, Raphael Saadiq, Marie Serenholt, Cascada and more.
JUST DANCE, Sandra’s album, garnered Los Angeles Music Award nominations for Best Pop Artist and Best R&B Song in 2007. Her music has appeared on Paula Abdul’s Live To Dance and is a dance favorite on the convention and competition circuit. Born in Des Moines, Iowa, Sandra has been performing since age 3 and got her start in Las Vegas as an opening act with her sister performing alongside Bill Cosby, Lou Rawls, Savion Glover and the Nicholas Brothers. The sister act, Colton and Colton, went on to win the Teen Dance category on Star Search.
