Alyssa Myers

Yuma, AZ

BFA Class of 2020

Where did you train?

I trained at Yuma Ballet Academy and Ballet Yuma with teachers Kathleen Sinclair, Jon Cristofori and Emma Cong. Ballet Yuma annually attends Regional Dance of America, which has been my door into the dance world and even led me to discover Kaufman!

What inspires you?

Beauty and dynamics found in nature.  I love going on hikes to clear my mind and appreciate the world around me. People and relationships are also some of the most inspiring things.

Describe yourself in three words.

Dedicated. Truthful. Loving.

Tell a fun fact about you.

In 2012, I was in a flashmob in Montreal, Canada that broke a record at over two thousand participants!

What does it mean to be a part of USC Kaufman?

Being part of Kaufman means stepping outside what you are comfortable with. It means exploring new way of communicated through movement and abandoning the line that separates one style from another. Kaufman develops artists that can say a thousand words without moving a muscle. This is the groundbreaking gateway for the New Movement! I am so excited to be a part of this!
