Alvaro Montelongo

Guadalajara, Mexico

BFA Class of 2019

Where did you train?

I trained at a lot of places: Academia de Danza Doris Topete, Fomento Artístico Cordobés, The Sarasota Cuban Ballet School, and most recently, The Ailey School.

What inspires you?

Human thoughts.

Describe yourself in three words:

Tall, chill and loving.

Tell us a fun fact about you.

I am unusually tall.

What does it mean to be a part of USC Kaufman’s inaugural class?

It is very exciting to be a part of USC Kaufman’s inaugural class, but at the same time it is a wave of suspense. I do not know what it is going to be like, although I have a pretty good feeling that it is going to be fascinating. And I expect that that innovation is going to be a lead factor in the experience.

It is an honor to be a student in USC Kaufman’s inaugural class and to share the spotlight with my fellow dancers, artists, and human beings. I am beyond excited to have the opportunity to carve a path that will facilitate my soul and body to create the new movement.
