Originally from Phoenix, Ariz., Simrin Player began her classical ballet training under the direction of Slawomir Wozniak. At the age of nine, she landed her first commercial job: the 2007 VH1 Hip Hop Honors Award Show, honoring Missy Elliott. This afforded Simrin the opportunity to work with the industry’s top artists including Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Will Smith, Christina Aguilera, Pitbull and Shakira. Simrin continues her studies at USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance, where she has had the honor of performing works by Crystal Pite, William Forsythe, Jiří Kylián, Dwight Rhoden, Alejandro Cerrudo, Barak Marshall and more. While completing her BFA in Dance, Simrin simultaneously pursues a minor in Communications with a concentration on Culture, Media, & Entertainment. Simrin is an endowed Glorya Kaufman Scholar of the Class of 2021, Dean Scholar (Academic Award), and Dance Merit Scholar. While residing in Los Angeles, she has been employed in commercial dance opportunities, including J. Balvin’s Machika music video, Brandy’s Baby Mama music video and more. Simrin aspires to be a professional artist in a contemporary dance company while simultaneously engaging in the commercial dance industry. As a passionate, collaborative female dance maker, Simrin hopes to share her choreographic and artistic vision of melding contemporary and breakdancing with future artists and audiences.
