USC’s Division of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy invites applicants for a full-time, clinical track faculty position to provide clinical services in a dance medicine setting within the USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance and the USC PT Clinic, University Park Campus (UPC). This is a joint position between the USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance and the Division of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy.

The faculty member will be the primary person coordinating dancer health and wellness, building the dancer health and wellness team from the ground up; work “in concert” with the USC Kaufman dance faculty and the USC PT clinical faculty and will also work in collaboration with other inter-professional clinical faculty and staff (i.e. physicians, counseling services, nutrition services, etc.), as appropriate.  The faculty member will also create a comprehensive approach to dancer health and wellness.

Clinical responsibilities include evaluation and treatment of acute and chronic injuries on-site at the Glorya Kaufman School of Dance and in the USC PT-UPC clinic. Academic responsibilities include teaching one undergraduate course per semester (which is taught on a rotating basis with Kaufman faculty), “Conditioning for Dancers and Dance Science” through the Glorya Kaufman School of Dance in the dance science curriculum.

The Division of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy has a strong reputation for excellence in physical therapy education. We are seeking an individual with a doctoral degree in Physical Therapy, preferably with 3-5 years’ experience in a dance medicine, athletic medicine or performing arts setting. Board certification is preferred.
