Jada Walker hails from the dirty south. From Houston, Texas, she took advantage of the benefits of the city by starting her dance training at the age of three. At six, she landed her first professional job, performing from 2006 to 2014 with the Houston Rockets Little Dippers. While participating on a Kids NBA Dance Team, she had the opportunity to train and expand her technique skills in ballet, jazz, hip-hop, modern, contemporary, heels, commercial dance and aerial silks.
As a student growing up in the commercial world, Jada is privileged to train at the USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance. Her performances have included a wide range of repertory by Jiři Kylián, Paul Taylor, Desmond Richardson, Dwight Rhoden, Ohad Naharin, Bret Easterling and Peter Chu. Jada also appreciates the opportunities she has had with William Forsythe, Saleemah E. Knight, Fiona Lumis, E. Moncell Durden and d. Sabela grimes.
Jada has continued to work in the commercial world while completing her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. Commercial choreographers she has worked with include Tessandra Chavez, Brian Friedman, Calvit Harris, Laurieann Gibson and Gil Duldulao. Some recent projects are Brandy’s “Baby Mama” music video, the Kids Choice Awards with Kid Cudi, NBC’s “This Is Us” and Shein Rock The Runway. Jada continues to expand her commercial career in LA with the ambition to create a name for herself in the dance world and even beyond, by using her collaborative skills in the fashion and cosmetics/beauty industries.
