The 2025 Princess Grace Award winner takes you behind-the-scenes of his new world premiere for the USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance.

There are few artists today more in demand than Houston Thomas. The 2025 Princess Grace Award winner and choreographic star is steadily making his rounds as a guest for major American dance companies, including the Joffrey Ballet, the School of American Ballet and the Washington Ballet.
Now, as a first-time artist-in-residence at the USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance, Thomas is tackling a new work for USC Kaufman BFA students, debuting later this month at the Bing Theatre during the school’s annual Spring Showcase. In the video below, Thomas discusses the inspiration for his new piece and what he hopes audiences will take away from it.
