First-Year Applicants

A first-year or freshman applicant is any student currently enrolled in high school or who has graduated from high school and never attended college. This may include students from non-traditional academic backgrounds, such as homeschooled students or students completing high school online.

First-year applicants must submit the following materials:

  • USC Undergraduate Application, which includes the First-Year or Common Application and USC Writing Supplement. Be sure to list “B.F.A. Dance” as one of your intended majors. Also, follow up with any supplementary materials, such as transcripts and a letter of recommendation.
  • USC Kaufman Portfolio for First-Year Applicants on SlideRoom, which is accessed through the Common Application.

Please note that the SAT or Act is not required of applicants for the 2021-2022 academic year.
