Inspired by the likes of Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, Betsy Struxness spent her late teens fantasizing about making music. Instead, “the theatrical career kind of took over,” she says.

That career includes tours of Oklahoma! and All Shook Up, and originating roles for mega-Broadway hits like Hamilton. But now, the USC Kaufman professor is returning to an old dream: becoming a pop singer with the release of her debut album, Physical Attention.
