SHOW #1

Robert Hoffer

Exploring the relationship between proximity to sound and world-building, the work employs dichotomies such as the perfect versus imperfect, intentional versus unintentional, and past versus present, to frame the research. Through an archive of voice memos recorded over the years, the work curates a dialogue between himself and the dancers, fostering an informal yet dynamic collaboration in movement generation and spatial curation.

Featuring Ryan Amato, Chelsea Correa, Emily Fluker, Lindsay Lykins, Nina Outlaw, and Lincoln Seymour

Live music composition and performance by Jonah Tran

A Comment on Loneliness… (work in progress sharing)

This piece is a work in progress, actively being created to address the loneliness epidemic, acknowledging that while loneliness can feel isolating, it is a shared human experience. Through solos and duets, various aspects of confronting loneliness will be explored, including comfort seeking, self-soothing, and the physical sensations that accompany loneliness both alone and with others.

Featuring Rhaine Marquardt and Wyatt Florin

Infinite Circuit Sequel

An expansion of the trio Infinite Circuit, which premiered in 2022, this work captures the battle between conformity and freedom, inspired by modern societal pressures. The creation process explored how sound’s intricacies and emotions can be physicalized through movement and choreography, focusing on the interaction between music and movement.

Featuring Sam Amey, Wyatt Florin, Tamar Gabelev, Brenan Gonzalez, Leeann Ross, Onye Stevenon, and Summer Vu

SHOW #2

Sadie Grace Shelburne

A work exploring the intangible complexities of internal narratives clouded by depression and anxiety. Guided by three personally important excerpts of literature, the work constructs a narrative arch that grapples with displays of unhinged emotions, notions of self-pity and victimhood, and the attempt to recontextualize pain as a source of internal healing.

Featuring Sam Fine, Robert Hoffer, Benjamin Jones, Ella Melideo, Ryan Pecorella, Lincoln Seymour, Ella Querrey, Xavier Williams, and Stella Wong

Music composition by Charlie Richardson

Jasmine Robinson

A work exploring the relentless conflict between the mind and itself, exposing the paradox of escape from one’s own psyche. Inspired by Virginia Woolf’s final piece of writing, the work examines the ‘warning signs’ of psychological unraveling, through a visceral embodiment of complex symptoms encompassing mental illness, that illuminates both the suffering of the afflicted and the profound void left in their wake.

Featuring Emmy Berg, Sam Fine, Robert Hoffer, Benjamin Jones, Ryan Pecorella, Lincoln Seymour, Ella Querrey, Xavier Williams, and Stella Wong
