While at USC completing her undergraduate education, Alvarez-Mena performed in Aspen Santa Fe Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker. She signed with Bloc Talent Agency and hopes to dabble in commercial work and eventually dance on Broadway. In addition, she wants to continue her work with bringing awareness to mental health for dancers. Alvarez-Mena is currently a corps de ballet member with Oregon Ballet Theatre. Ultimately, she hopes to dive into opportunities for artistic exploration.
“Simultaneously, I want to learn to listen, understand, and remain open-minded towards unfamiliar ideas, in addition to promoting the importance of mental health across the dance community,” she said.
