Lincoln Seymour is a dancer and choreographer from Chicago, IL. His performance career began early when he was cast as Billy in Billy Elliot the Musical with Porchlight Music Theatre. This experience sparked a curiosity for music performance and storytelling through movement. His performance in this show would lead to an invitation to audition for the Chicago Academy for the Arts with a dance focus, where he trained under his mentors Patrick Simoniello and Randy Duncan.
As his aspirations for the performing arts grew, so did his interest in music composition and its relationship to the movement he was performing and generating. In his research, he aims to mediate a mutualistic relationship between dance and music to help make sense of the work presented.
Following high school, Lincoln pursued a BFA at the USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance where he was awarded the Artistic Excellence Scholarship. During his summers, he furthered his training at prestigious programs such as Jacob’s Pillow, Nedelands Dans Theater Intensive, and Orsolina28. Most recently, Lincoln made his professional concert dance debut as a guest artist with BODYTRAFFIC, performing Trey McIntyre’s MAYDAY.
Lincoln is grateful for the opportunities and support systems that have shaped his artistry. He is eager to continue exploring the intersections of movement, music, and narrative by joining a dance company that offers both performance experience and collaborative creative opportunities to help jump start an eventual choreographic career.
