Mia Snape is a creative from San Francisco, California currently pursuing a BFA at the USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance with a minor in Psychology, and studies in classical voice. Mia began her foundational ballet training at San Francisco Ballet School, gaining valuable early experience performing alongside the company in productions at the opera house. In high school, Mia commenced her studies in jazz, modern, contemporary, and composition which she continues as a dance major, expanding her vocabulary to include Gaga, house, whacking, locking, musical theater, dancehall, Horton, and Dunham among other styles.

Mia continues to have an invested interest in the technical mastery of Ballet, aspiring to work with a company pushing the aesthetic and thematic envelope of the form and pursuing stylistic intersections beyond the form in new choreographic works. She dreams of one day making her debut on Broadway, performing on the West End, and originating a role in a theatrical production having a particular interest in the collaborative process.

Beyond performance, Mia is an avid learner; eager to travel, soak up new experiences, and work in a multitude of different artistic mediums. An inspired collaborator, Mia participated in the CoLab Festival 2024 at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire and choreographed for and acted in various student projects and events at USC. With her academic interest in Psychology, she aims to integrate her ongoing studies of dance and of the brain to effect positive change driven by research and promote holistic pedagogical approaches in dance classrooms and beyond.
