BFA Class of 2020
Originally from Denver, Colorado, Olivia Gieringer received her training at Michelle Latimer Dance Academy and Denver School of the Arts. She has studied a variety of artistic forms under numerous master teachers and choreographers, including ballet, contemporary, modern, hip-hop and jazz. Throughout her years of training, Olivia cultivated a love for not only dance and choreography, but also music, film and fashion. She is equally passionate about creating her own work. Recently, she has choreographed and directed several dance films and hopes to create many more in the future. Using music as a guiding principle to formulate a physical embodiment of sound, her choreography is strategically designed to create recognizable patterns and motifs that are organized in a way that is unpredictable to the viewer. In February 2019, she was selected by USC Kaufmanfaculty to perform a self-choreographed solo at New York Live Arts. Olivia aspires to perform around the world and to provide and receive knowledge from those she encounters along the way.
