Originally from Dallas, Texas, Onye Stevenson began her dance training at Prodigy Dance and Performing Arts Centre, where she developed a strong foundation in contemporary, jazz, modern, hip-hop, tap, ballet, and Latin ballroom. This versatile training, combined with her love for performance, fueled her desire to deepen her artistry, leading her to pursue a BFA at the USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance, where her love for both concert and commercial dance continues to flourish.

Her time at USC has introduced her to a wide array of movement styles and provided the space to hone her creative voice. She has had the privilege of performing works by renowned choreographers such as Kyle Abraham, Hope Boykin, Micaela Taylor, Roderick George, and Jiří Kylián. A highlight of her time at USC was performing in Kaufman’s debut at Jacob’s Pillow in Beckett, MA, a key milestone in her career.

Beyond performance, Onye is also passionate about digital media and marketing. She currently helps manage social media for the USC Kaufman Communications Team and hopes to extend her expertise to dance companies globally, promoting dance through innovative social media strategies.

Onye is actively pursuing opportunities across the commercial and concert dance worlds while simultaneously using digital platforms to promote the art form. She is committed to finding creative strategies to amplify the reach of dance through social media, aiming to inspire others and contribute to the growth of the global dance community.
