Rhaine Marquardt (she/her)
Calgary, Alberta, Canada
BFA Class of 2026
Where did you train?
For several years I trained intensively with YYC Dance Project and Alberta Ballet School, where I learned the true meaning of artistry. Previously, I danced at Alive Danceworks where my love of dance and performance started.
What inspires you?
I am inspired by those special moments in dance when mind, heart and soul unite to create movement that evokes emotion so strong that words do not have the capacity to describe it. The body has a beautiful ability to share stories that transcend the boundaries of speech in a way that keeps me curious and hungry for deep artistic exploration.
Describe yourself in three words.
Passionate, Loyal, Driven.
Tell us a fun fact about you.
I have a weird love for baking cakes and can get a little perfectionistic when it comes to icing and decorating!
What does it mean to be a part of USC Kaufman?
To me, being part of USC Kaufman is to be a part of a community of dancers that unites artistic and academic excellence. A dream come true. From the very first time I set foot on campus, it felt like home, the beginning of an incredible artistic journey, one filled with endless inspiration, discovery and innovation of the mind and body to create extraordinary movement.
