Born and raised in Long Island, NY, Robert Hoffer began his training in various dance styles at Fusion Dance Complex in Holbrook, NY, under the direction of Kyle and Amanda Preiser. He also studied with his mentor, Daniel Tidwell, who emphasized an eccentric approach to ballet education. Rob’s passion for dance grew through his role as an ambassador for the Toronto-based dance workshop Rutherford Movement Exchange. These experiences as well as support from his community influenced his decision to attend the USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance to further refine his craft.

At USC, Rob had the honor of performing works choreographed by renowned artists such as Peter Chu, Roderick George, Bret Easterling, Jiří Kylián, and Micaela Taylor. While balancing a rigorous academic and performance schedule, Rob has participated in masterclasses with notable artists such as Garen Scribner, Spenser Theberge, Yin Yue, and USC alum Jake Tribus. Rob spent his summers at renowned intensives like Gaga Lab and Gallim L.A. Experience, where he expanded his artistic horizons and refined his skills.

Looking ahead, Rob aspires to join a concert contemporary company in hopes of traveling and performing internationally. He also plans to continue pursuing choreography and youth education while performing. On weekends, he loves listening to music while biking and spending time with family and friends.
