BFA Class of 2019
Where did you train?
I started dancing when I was around 2 years old and continued my training at Hermosa School of Dance and Music. This is where I met my mentor, Jessie Riley. She encouraged me to work hard on my ballet and train at intensives during summer. I remember that in 2011 Mrs. Riley had us write a research paper on William Forsythe. Who would have imagined that five years later I’d get to meet this innovator of dance at USC Kaufman? I am simply overjoyed and I couldn’t be more thankful for my training.
What inspires you?
Inspiration is life. Everything in this world inspires my movement and conjures new ideas.
Describe yourself in three words:
Humorous. Personable. Dedicated.
Tell us a fun fact about you:
I can make strange noises with my hands.
What does it mean to be a part of USC Kaufman’s inaugural class?
The faculty and teachers saw my technique, but more importantly they saw the artistry behind my movement. That means so much to me. I am thrilled to enhance my artistic voice with some of the greatest teachers of our time.
