Zuzu Duchon (she/her)

Mill Valley, CA

BFA Class of 2028

Where did you train?

I began my training at the Performing Arts Academy of Marin where I discovered my passion for various genres of dance. In high school, I relocated to Orange County where I competed with Project 21 under the direction of Molly Long and trained at the Yorba Linda Academy of Ballet. I returned home my senior year to study under the direction of Julianne Spratlin at the Dance Training Center of San Francisco.

What inspires you?

Music is a main source of inspiration for me. I am constantly searching for new artists, genres, and songs that can unlock unfamiliar sensations and feelings that I can bring to my dancing. I am also extremely inspired when I see my peers following their dreams to create their own personal success stories.

Describe yourself in three words

My name comes from the movie It’s a Wonderful Life!

What does it mean to be part of USC Kaufman?

Being a part of USC Kaufman means that I am committing to four years of building lifelong connections in a supportive community, gaining knowledge to grow into the best person and artist that I can possibly be. I am looking forward to the endless collaboration, inspiration, and support from my talented peers. I have always dreamt of being a part of the USC Kaufman family and now that it has become reality I cannot wait for what’s to come!
