A transfer applicant is any student who has completed at least one college course after graduating from high school. Some transfer applicants may be attending college part-time or full-time at a junior college or four-year institution. Many transfer applicants to USC Kaufman are currently enrolled in other dance programs.
Transfer students are welcome to apply for admission to USC Kaufman’s BFA in Dance with the understanding that the program takes a full four years to complete. Transferrable dance classes taken at a previous institution will yield general elective credit. Transferrable non-dance courses may satisfy USC General Education requirements. (Note: Transfer students should prioritize GE requirements not fulfilled by the BFA Core. BFA Core courses fulfill GE-A, one GE-B, GE-G, and GE-H.)
Previously-accrued work allows you to spend time and units pursuing another major, minor, pre-professional emphasis or progressive degree.
Transfer applicants must submit the following materials:
- USC Undergraduate Application, via the Common Application. Be sure to select dance as one of your intended majors. Also, follow up with any supplementary materials, such as transcripts.
- USC Kaufman Portfolio for Transfer Applicants on SlideRoom, which is accessed through the Common Application
