USC Kaufman Dean Julia M. Ritter shared the news in a letter to faculty and staff.
Dear Faculty and Staff Colleagues,
I am pleased to announce that Bruce McCormick, Associate Professor of Practice, has agreed to fill the position of Interim Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs for the 2026-2027 Academic Year.
Bruce has been an integral member of USC Kaufman since his arrival in 2018 as both an educator and administrator. As head of Career Services since 2022, he has built meaningful connections between students and industry leaders from across the US and abroad, which has led to tangible opportunities for our graduates through initiatives like the Senior Spotlights platform.
Beyond Career Services, Bruce has been a steady contributor to faculty governance, curricular development, and strategic planning. He served as a founding member and chair of the Artistic Advisory Committee, has shaped core curriculum in Dance Technique and Repertory & Performance, and currently leads the Capstone Proposal Review Committee. His service also extends to Admissions, the Kaufman Committee on Appointments and Promotions, and the university’s Misconduct Sanctioning Panel.
Bruce brings to this role a deep commitment to our community and the future of USC Kaufman. In this capacity, he will contribute meaningfully to our Strategic Plan and collaborate with faculty on curriculum and other key initiatives. I look forward to his partnership and leadership.
Dance On!
