USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance and USC Thornton School of Music students are in France through June 9 for our 2019 Paris Maymester. During this course, students explore moments in Parisian salon culture as sites of artistic inspiration and collaboration. They also investigate the cross-cultural legacy of Paris and reflect on their own positions as global ambassadors of music, dance and culture. In addition to USC Kaufman’s Assistant Dean of Admission and Student Services Anne Aubert-Santelli, USC Kaufman faculty member Jackie Kopcsak and USC Thornton faculty member Rotem Gilbert are in Paris with the students.

Last Friday, faculty and staff held orientation for the Paris Maymester. Afterwards, the group took a Seine River Cruise and took a photo in front of the Hôtel de Ville. Later in the evening, several of the students enjoyed a laser light show celebrating the Eiffel Tower’s 130th birthday. Over the weekend, the group attended a performance of Nederlands Dans Theater 2 at the Théâtre de la Danse Chaillot. They also enjoyed a free night of museums starting at the Musée Picasso.

Stay tuned over the next few weeks for Paris Maymester blog posts and reflections from our BFA students.
