Student Reflection: Megan Yamashita

April 10, 2016

For BFA student Megan Yamashita, USC Kaufman provided many fantastic unexpected opportunities. Yet her favorite part of the program is the close knit community that has become like a family to her in just the first year.

“With all the amazing faculty, resident artists, and guest master classes–on top of all the amazing repertory we are getting to dance–I would say this year is more than I ever expected it would be when I look back at my initial commitment to USC Kaufman. But my favorite thing about this year would be how closely we are mentored and cared for by our faculty, advisors, and Vice Dean Gates. I also love the fact that all 33 of us truly have become so supportive and close to the point where these people are my family (I love you all!) I’m so thankful and gracious to Glorya Kaufman for supporting and creating this amazing school.”
