As the spring semester begins, USC Kaufman welcomes lecturer Bonnie Oda Homsey, who will teach DANC 470: Dance Leadership for junior BFA dance students. Homsey has become an industry influencer; evolving from dancer to artistic director, producer, educator, curator, author, lecturer, arts advocate, funder, panelist, and filmmaker. We sat down with her to answer some questions.

Bret Easterling will join USC Kaufman faculty this spring as a lecturer in Gaga technique. A graduate of The Juilliard School, Easterling has danced with Batsheva Dance Company and has been teaching Gaga since 2011.

George Balanchine’s “Who Cares” premiered in 1970; set to the music of jazz composer George Gershwin, the 40-minute ballet is among Balanchine’s most famous works. Known for its syncopated flair and jazz influences, “Who Cares” is still performed regularly by the New York City Ballet (ballerina Tiler Peck is famous for her interpretation of the “Fascinating Rhythm” solo) and many other companies worldwide.
