There is something so special about freshman year. New friends, new teachers, new roommates… Everything is new! As exciting as it is, the thought of it can also be daunting. For many people, it is their first time living away from their families and going to school with strangers. But at USC Kaufman, these strangers soon become family.

Last month, three sophomore dance majors and I traveled to London to work with musicians for collaboration, exploration, and choreographic purposes at Trinity Laban’s CoLab program. We each took on a different project, participating in four projects total.

This past December, I had the opportunity to film for the third session of the Netflix television series, GLOW (Gorgeous Ladies Of Wrestling). Growing up, I had always dreamt of being on television. I can now say that my dream has come true–well, not quite yet. The episode I danced in will appear in the third season, coming this spring around April.

The opportunity to work with Matthew Neenan for three weeks during his residency was a dream come true. This semester I have been nursing an injury, and since I wasn’t dancing throughout the beginning of the process, I was lucky enough to be his rehearsal director.
